I'm saving my energy for tomorrow by not going out too much today. The fourth of July just isn't my holiday anyways. So instead, I've found some hilarious and some thought provoking things on the web today

Thought provoking:

• Why is our food so expensive? Because someone thought it was a good idea to put corn in our gas tanks rather than feed people.

• Why is it so hard to run in the heat? Because it's hot out of course. But here's a few helpful tips and a nice explanation anyways.

And the otherwise notable:

• 11 most unusual ways to save money right now. Really it's more like 9 because medical advice is something you should never get for free and hopefully none of you will need to smoke any time soon. If you do, I'm sure that pack of cigarettes is still around somewhere.

• Not clear if diabetes or a dachsund is more deadly. There are so many things wrong with this article. We'll start with the obvious "dog eats toe" bit. Second why is a veterinarian commenting on a lady's foot and not her doctor. And finally, the poor woman calls her daughter?
