Linkfest Saturday

I know, I know - it'd be much more interesting to talk about the half marathon I just ran.  I will; let me clear out my list of things I wanted to tell you about first.

• Do prisoners get better care than the elderly?  Working in this area, I don't think nursing homes are quite that bad, and I don't think jail food could possibly be better than nursing home food.  The author does raise a point (possibly without meaning too) about the use of technology like video to monitor and care for people.
• All the flavors of McDonalds we don't get here.  Some of those look good.
• This is for my Pookybear.  She knows why.
• An interesting look at educational attainment by city.  Go Minneapolis, St Paul and Cincinnati.
• Ad space on high school lockers?  This story actually caught my eye because I used to work at Underwater Adventures, the ad on the lockers in the photo.
• More on food labels, the sugar content of soda is rarely what the label purports.
• And finally, in honor of voting on Tuesday, see what companies and industries contribute to different parties and causes.  I was surprised by a couple.  If that's not enough, feel free to Watch President Obama talk out of both sides of his mouth about equality and acceptance as he tells kids the world will accept them for who they are one day, if not now, and tells everyone in the military that we accept them as long as we don't have to know anything about who they are.  (Sorry, bit of a soap box there.)
